Ski at the Kronplatz/Plan de Corones ski resort and San Vigilio di Marebbe
The Plan de Corones ski resort, which includes San Vigilio di Marebbe is one of the most renowned in the whole Alps, and every year its prestige is confirmed by the large number of visitors who come. It's an extraordinary place for winter holidays, thanks to the wide range of sporty activities combined with modern lift facilities and a large program of events.
The ski resort takes its name from Kronplatz/Plan de Corones, the unmistakable in South Tyrol. At the summit of Plan de Corones which is 2,275 metres high, there's the Concordia 2000 peace bell which was realised on a panoramic platform. Furthermore, you can admire the panorama which stretches from the Dolomites to the Venosta Alps.
Plan de Corones includes in addition to San Viglio di Marebbe, the villages of Brunico, Riscone, Valdaora, San Lorenzo di Sebato, San Martino in Badia, Rasun, Anterselva, Chienes, Falzes, Gais, Villa Ottone, Valle di Casies, Terento, Monguelfo and Tesido.
The ski resort of Plan de Corones is part of the Dolomiti Superski ski carousel and has more than 32 lift facilities and 116 km of slopes in winter. In addition, you can do snowboarding, cross-country skiing, go for winter hikes, snow-shoe hiking, ski tours and lots more besides.
